Who is NAAIA?

The National African-American Insurance Association (NAAIA) is the premier organization for African-American insurance industry professionals seeking to establish a meaningful network with peers and executives. As a result of a committed dedication to learning, development, outreach and support, our members are empowered and positioned to achieve professional and community impact goals.

The New York Chapter of NAAIA was founded on July 14, 2004 with a mission of creating a network of insurance professionals within the New York Area to foster career and businessnopportunities. As a trade association, the Chapter’s membership includes executives, agents, brokers, attorneys, underwriters, and other professionals in insurance-related fields who either work or live in New York City and the surrounding areas. Today, our focus is on promoting the insurance industry through a variety of educational, civic, and social activities that support career advancement and business development within the geographical area we serve.

Our members represent a large number of diverse professionals from a variety of areas in the
industry including:

• Brokerage General Agencies (BGA)
• Reinsurance Professionals

• Trade Associations
• Risk Management/Consultant Firms
• Claims Professionals

We also hold relationships with traditional insurance industry trade associations and other organizations representing the ever-growing multicultural marketplace.
